not only is summer coming to a fast end but in one week tomorrow my girl child will be starting Grade 7. that is junior high people!
*sigh*
where the hell does the time go. it seems like yesterday she was just a sweet little newborn in my arms and now she is just about as tall as me and going to junior high.
good thing about school starting is not having to pay a sitter. i work the hours she is gone so it doesnt cost me extra. i love our sitter but having to pay that out for 2 months really messes with my budget.
she had a great summer with them and is sad she wont be able to see them as often but she is also stoked to go back to school.
Speedy loves the structure of school. the socialization, the school work even. mind you with her learning delay she is not in a mainstream class. she is in a work at your own pace type class. her work ranges from grade 2 to grade 4 level depending on the subject.
she is attending a new school this year so i am a little worried about that. i always get scared when we have to start a new school. will she be ok? will mean kids pick on her? will i have to go there and open a can of whoop ass on someone? she has made out just fine the other times she has had to change schools so i will keep my fingers crossed this time will be the same.
my baby is not a baby anymore. *sigh*

I hope they love and cherish Speedy as much as we all do. Kick some ass Speedy my dear...
Summer is a mixed blessing. We do camps but find that it futzes with the budget too... I know many would hate to hear it, but I wonder if year round schooling might not be a better option.
It's scary how fast they grow up. My friends kids are both out of school now, and I changed both their diapers!!
