Oh good. I am glad yours went well. Want to hear about mine?
I went into work for 10am as I always do. There was 3 of us on. It was a rather quiet mroning at work. Not too many customers. I was anxious to finish my shift for a fun filled weekend.
Shortly after 11 the phone rang. The manager from another store was looking for something and wondered how the product looked because a customer was interested in purchasing it. My sweet little manager (on duty), Barakus happily put her on hold to go check out the piece she was asking about.
Barakus is the store mom. She is just a tiny little thing. Sweet as pie. We love her.
She went to check the drawer and all I heard was *BANG* and "oh shit!". Barakus does not cuss so I knew this was bad.
There was a pedestal table stacked on top of 2 other Console tables that fell when she opened the drawer and hit her right in the head. She grabbed her head and there was blood.. A LOT of blood.
She went for the back room. I followed quickly behind her. I was on the phone with 911 as she held pressure to her head. I made her sit because I was afraid she would be standing and get dizzy and fall. One thing at a time.
The ambulance got there fairly quickly. They helped her out. Took her away. My coworker and I kept the store running while we waited for a replacement manager to come in.
I talked to her later that night. A total of 10 stitches later she was home. I was so worried about her. She was in great spirits and laughing about another guy in the ER.
Talk about a crazy morning. She is off work until Tuesday. I wont be letting her check any more furniture when she is back.
