Only some dogs not allowed

There once was a time, not that long ago when people would leave their dogs at home. Big or small it did not matter. If you were going out shopping, you left it.

This little sign was plastered everywhere. It seemed to become, what we thought as, common knowledge. If you have a dog, you go out. It is a house pet after all. Unless of course it is a working dog. That is a different story. That working dog has a purpose.

Then little by little pocket dogs invaded the earth. Now don't get me wrong, those wee things are freaking cute.

BUT..

They are fucking dogs. What the hell are you doing with these damn things in stores. Or in your purse. Or in a fucking stroller.

Is the point of walking a dog for it not to get exercise? How the hell does it get said exercise in a stroller. Please. Tell me. I would really like to know.

I work in retail and I cannot tell you how many people walk in with their dogs. They are in their arms or even just walking along side of them looking for the next spot to mark their territory.. IN THE STORE.

If i brought our retriever into your store you SURE as hell would not like it.

What? He is not acceptable as a shopping dog? Why? because he is big? Because his tail is bigger than your dog? But what if poor Nappie wants a day out.

I surely cannot fit him in one of those doggie snugglies now can i?

But no. If I walk in anywhere with our dog I would surely get thrown out.

Yet some how these little pocket dogs are invading. Invading the mall, the grocery store and even the public transportation.

What is next? Bring your pocket dog to work day?

In which pocket dogs can see their master hard at work while they follow closely behind taking notes?

Taking notes alright. Surely to rule the world.

Dogs are just that people. Dogs. If you are going out, leave them at home. Stop freaking people out when they think they are looking into a stroller to see a sweet newborn and see your hairy mutt.

They are not meant for shopping. If you want to put something in a snugglie, have a baby. A real one, that will grown up to be a grown up.
